Decisions. Simplified.

The Options Configurator is an optioneering application that has been developed to help identify cost- and carbon-optimal design options at the earliest possible design stage. The Options Configurator helps users make informed design decisions at the earliest possible design stage by bringing cost and carbon analysis, across the asset lifecycle, to your fingertips. The Options Configurator has been designed and developed by Pell Frischmann for Liverpool City Council as part of the Liverpool LiveLab. The Liverpool LiveLab has been funded by the Department for Transport (DfT), and supported by ADEPT.

About Adept LiveLabs 2

ADEPT developed Live Labs 2 to support the transition to net zero carbon local roads. Adept Live Labs 2 is a three-year, £30 million, UK-wide programme funded by the Department for Transport that will run until March 2026, with a five-year subsequent, extended monitoring and evaluation period. Seven projects, grouped by four interconnected themes, are being led by local authorities working alongside commercial and academic partners. Together with Liverpool City Council, and our other project partners, the focus of our LiveLab is The Ecosystem of Things - driving a low-carbon economy. As part of this, we are looking into ways of decarbonising highways delivery and the road asset in complex city contexts, demonstrating that this benefits the local economy and people. The Options Configurator sits at the heart of the LiveLab and constitutes a scalable and transferrable systems mapping and optioneering approach at city-level which helps to identify and assess the innovations offering the greatest impacts within individual projects or design schemes.
